Why so many damn good shows there? You always hear about great venues and this must be one from all the great shows over the years. All I can say about this anniversary show after a few minutes of Dark Star is hell yes! And Mr. Hucker gave it 5 stars and some guy with a variation on William Tell did as well. But Dr. Flashback gave it a mere 4 (which is a 5+ from most reviewers).

It's a magnificant theater, seeped in history. Legends like Benny Goodman and Gene Krupa have jammed there. I think Bob Marley may have given his very last live performance there. The acoustics may be as good as any venue they have ever played? Billboard magazine has called it the "Number One Auditorium in the U.S." See for yourself...

But remember, the legendary three-night stand from 1972 was at the Stanley in Jersey City.

yes it is a "grate" theater; I went to pitt during the late seventies and have many wonderful memories of the place.

A couple of very special ones were my first two dead shows: 11-30 and 12-01-79!!!

yeah, it is a great theater, only 10 minutes from my house. in fact they played a show there on my birthday, 3/5/81. while i was being born the dead were playing a show just a few miles away.
